Pros

Focus on giving back to communities. Environmental stewardship.

Cons

Top brass across all functions and corporately are delusional and myopic. Southwire likes to talk about taking a “OneSouthwire” approach but that is a false narrative inside the organization. There is no set of guiding principles in place to help with decisions. Rather, it is highly fragmented with most processes and has a highly political / growing cutthroat environment. I would only recommend working here to my biggest enemies.

Pros

ProjectGift and community involvement is great.

Cons

Promotions based on politics rather than skill. Promotions yesterday prove it. Especially in HR.

Pros

Southwire pays well and have good benefits. They have their own medical clinic and gym.

Cons

good old boy system with no room for advancement even with a degree. If you work in the plant its zero to none chance of transitioning to corporate. It's all about who you know and not what you know.
