Pros

The work! There are only a handful of companies on the planet making the kind of impact that SpaceX is making. Not only are we shaking up the aging Aerospace industry and pushing through technological boundaries, but we are also working on projects with the potential to change human history. You definitely get the sense you are part of something big here. You also get the opportunity to work with some of the smartest people on the planet, and you get to witness some incredible feats of engineering. The campus in Hawthorne is expanding, and there are a lot of nice little benefits like an on site health and dental clinic, company store with cool gear, and many locations to grab cheap food.

Cons

Ok, the work hours are long, but the days go by quickly because you're genuinely interested in the work you're doing. I was also surprised that the pay is lower than the typical tech/aerospace company and they don't offer a 401k match.

Pros

Work on some of the most challenging problems in the world, with people that are all top of their field.

Cons

No management overhead - sounds like a developers (or libertarians) paradise until you realize that without some coordination/management, very few circular dependencies get resolved.

Pros

Very fast paced environment which I enjoyed. Every day brought it's own challenges and overcoming those challenges is incredibly rewarding. Not only that but you actually get to see and work on ROCKETS. Honestly, being a space nerd made Cape Canaveral the best location. Seeing a rocket launch - especially one you worked on - is one of the coolest things I have ever seen, and not to mention the history of Cape Canaveral. Keep in mind, SpaceX currently works at pad 39A, where all the Apollo missions and most of the shuttle missions launched from!

Cons

Hours can be a little rough sometimes. But, most everyone that works at SpaceX knows that going in, so be prepared for those long days.
