A company out of touch

Pros

Best high performance/high security MTA in the market. An MTA on steroids. Name brand customers who keep buying. Kegerator at HQ and employees encouraged to bring in their home-brew to share. Use Jive as the intranet. Use sf.com as the CRM.

Cons

Most expensive MTA in the market. Recent product release rejected by several customers for too many bugs. Some customer churn concerning. Culture - do not practice the values they preach from many perspectives. Engr- and technical-centric and founder-led culture. Compensation not industry competitive. Stock options not offered up-front, only after undefined performance to "core and critical" employees. Several of MS customers consistently make the top 10 list of companies most disliked in America as rated by ACSI. Employee turnover above industry average. Weak marketing, latest messaging is all hype - no meat on the bones with CCH. Weak sales - heavy reliance on installed base in USA can only last so long. Very weak Executive Team. Weak at change management. No vision. No leadership. Heavy duty politics. At risk to several competitors. Potential M&A to buy the customer base and the core MTA product - not the people and any new product under development.

Pros

Salary is decent. People you work with on daily basis (peers) are great.

Cons

They sack employees without thinking twice. Freshers suffer due to lack of training in company. Company management is so bad, every 2 weeks one employee resigns.

Pros

Great product with a solid customer base. Intelligent employees. Rapidly growing company which is rare in this day and age. Relaxed atmosphere and fun work environment (casual dress, flexible hours) Free lunch Thursdays - they provide free lunches for their employees every Thursday! Plus the kitchens are always stocked with sodas, pretzels and healthy snack options. Work from home flexibility. Good benefits. Plenty of vacation and personal days.

Cons

There are 3 US offices (Seattle, SF and Columbia) and there isn't that much face-to-face interaction between them. Only observe 7 holidays a year (not all of the government holidays).
