Pros

It has been an honor to work for Spectrum Association Management these many years. This is a company dedicated to leading this industry into the 21st century. With a commitment to excellence, a laser-focus on innovation and a solid foundation of teamwork, this company has earned its title to one of the best places to work in San Antonio. If you enjoy state-of-the-art training, wise mentorship and a supportive culture, you will feel at home at Spectrum. As the company has started from a small group of professionals sharing in the dream of its founders and lead by its exemplary CEO, not only has the company learned and grown, but I have as well. If you have a desire to be the very best you can be, all I can say is welcome aboard!

Cons

This is not a 9 to 5 job, you will be working various hours outside that frame to meet the needs of your communities. However, Spectrum has provisions in place for work-life balance which I feel has been very successful in practice.

Pros

Colleagues and the leadership team are extremely supportive! The company understands that work is a part of life and they provide the freedom and flexibility to take care of yourself and your family - as long as you are taking care of your responsibilities. If you need any additional support, you will absolutely get it, and everyone is willing to pitch in to help one another. Spectrum Association Mgmt. is already a great company to work for, but continues to make efforts to improve quality of life for employees.

Cons

You'll have to deal with some unfriendly individuals who reside in the communities we manage at times, but it has always been manageable and it is far less than what is often found in a typical customer service role. Different people train different ways which can lead to some inconsistencies in how tasks are completed. More departmental consistency would be nice (management is working on this currently).

Pros

5 weeks PTO and we can really use it The team I work with is awesome Volunteer time Can work remotely sometimes

Cons

Last year a manager was promoted to president and our CEO is not as involved. The CEO is a great person and the company was thriving under him. The President has been introducing a culture of micromanagement and no room for error. On the surface she seems well liked the the other leaders but I think that's cause she likes to play pranks and puts on a good show of caring. She is completely unaware of how she makes the people around her feel, like they are not smart enough or can't possibly be making the right decision. I'm glad I don't work directly for her but my boss does. The President is slowly changing this culture from one where autonomy was high to one where everything has to be touched by her. She constantly talks about herself. People leave conversations with her feeling badly about themselves and she thinks she's helped them. She micromanages everything.

Hello Oddball, (our name for our awesome employees) Thank you for taking the time to share. Thank you for your years of service. We are glad to hear you’ve found your time with us fulfilling. It sounds like your experience has been impacted by a recent change in the company. I am sorry you no longer feel as comfortable at work as you once did. I know change can be tough for everyone and this is a new challenge for our new President too. I’ve seen many positive developments with Nicole at the helm. I would agree with you that her pranks and jokes lighten the mood and are appreciated about the workplace. She is great at helping people be their best. Accountability is an important part of our Freedom value. Some folks operate differently, we apologize it feels like micromanagement. In my experience, Nicole and other leaders simply want to achieve our joint initiatives and help each employee be the best version of themselves. Our culture is intended to be one where mistakes aren’t only tolerated but embraced. I would encourage you to share if you feel like this isn’t the case. In my experience, our culture is one where you can share concerns and work through these types of concerns in a collaborative manner. This would be my suggestion for you as it seems we can still be a great fit for each other if you can work through this concern. If you are in San Antonio, then this same leader was leading your group during the time you indicated the company culture was what you liked and wanted. The Division President, who is now our President was overseeing all the employees in the division. The CEO is not very involved in the day to day of the division operation. I wonder what’s changed in your opinion as she’s transitioned from division president to president? I hope you find a way to share your concerns with us and I know, I for one, would be happy to speak with you, but it may make sense to speak directly with the new president, your former division leader. We have high expectations and we want all employees to feel fulfilled, energized, challenged, and supported at work. I am optimistic we can partner together to get you back to where you would recommend the company to others and feel like you have a great place to come to work.
