Thank you for your kind comments. It is indeed rewarding to hear that our employees put our children first and seek to provide them the best opportunities possible. It is the hard work of our employees that makes this all possible.

Pros

Working at Spectrum has been eye opening. The students have their challenges but seeing positive changes in them over time is amazing. Everything we do is for them.

Cons

The job is stressful. I never thought I'd be in the situations I've been in during this job. It can get physical, which I wasn't completely comfortable with when I first started. Also there's not much room to grow.

The Spectrum Center mission is to offer flexibility and customization to meet the diverse needs of students, districts and families. We implement best practices to promote optimal outcomes, and we continually adjust our programming as student populations change. We recognize the work can be challenging and we are very grateful for the service of all of our employees. Seeing the changes and advancements of our students over time is indeed amazing.

Extremely Rewarding Work

Pros

You can really impact children's lives on a daily basis. There is a tight community of staff and educators that collaborate to improve skills of Special needs children. Most of the management advanced from classroom positions so they understand needs of the classroom and most tend to be very involved in the IEP and educational process. Paid time off is huge benefit!

Cons

Pay is lower in education anyway and pay at Spectrum is not competitive for the challenging work you do. There have been some major changes in the last year. Teacher salaries are quite competitive now and classroom assistant positions have seen significant increase. But they need to do better in order to reduce turnover and retain the passionate and trained staff.
