Pros

There aren’t any when there are so many negatives.

Cons

It takes over a month to get your first check. They hold a check back on a bi weekly pay schedule meaning it’s 4 weeks before you see your check and they mail the first one to your house. It was 33 days before I finally got paid. If you take a direct Sales position like I did. I was charging a months worth of gas, filling up 3-4 times a week without any money coming in that first month. No support from management and the DSR supervisors are worthless, ask them what their role is and they tell you their title. They don’t really do anything other than make up cheesy nicknames for the sales reps. They also have long daily meetings sometimes twice a day, Pointless and devoid of pertinent information. They are more self serving for the individual holding the call.

Pros

Free/Discounted Services Guaranteed 40 hours a week Chances to meet lots of different people and make lots of various connections

Cons

Low compensation Lots of various pay cuts after buy-out Lack of recognition for good work Zero follow-through Too much emphasis on the wrong priorities/lack of emphasis on the right priorities Focus is on profit, not customer service Decisions are made by upper management with no comprehension of how those decisions will play out at customer level

Pros

Great coworkers, free cable (for now at least), and they let you wear wireless headsets. Air conditioning works really well. Other than that, there are no pros about this role.

Cons

Where do I begin? The micromanaging is INSANE. They constantly monitor your calls and will pull you off the phones for not pushing what they call "triples" (tv, internet, phone sale). So mind you, if someone's poor old grandma calls in and says she only needs internet and doesn't own a TV set and you decide to be a normal human being and sale her internet by itself and don't mention a "triple" to the little old lady who doesn't own a tv ... you get a write up. They write you up for everything. They micro manage all your time throughout the day ... spent more than 10 minutes in the bathroom outside of your 2 15 minutes breaks or lunch time block and you can expect to have a conversation with your supervisor about it. Take too long on a call and can expect to have to talk to a supervisor about it. Call drops in the middle of the sale and you have to call the customer back, expect to talk to your sup. They lie to you about the pay. I came on board and was told about the base salary and how the commission can make you hit anywhere between 70k and 90k a year. I'll be lucky if I even hit 45k at this point, those first 2 numbers are simply not possible with their current payout. The environment is just terrible and stressful for no reason at all, everyone is walking around with write ups. Supervisors constantly walking around talking loudly while your stuck at your desk praying the next call you get isn't some young person who boldly just wants internet. Management lies and tells you "the more calls you take the more money you make" when the commission payout is YIELD base, so usually people who end up taking less calls will have high commission checks. The whole place is a walking talking contradiction and I wouldn't even recommend working here to my worst enemy.
