Pros

The pay rates are competitive, most of the co worker base is very nice. The trainers put in a lot of work. Overall not the worst experience. Benefits are good.

Cons

This company could use some serious reform in the management department. Most of them I've encountered act like abusive family in terms they will mock you for your dress and appearance as if it affected your work standards. I made sure to adhere to the dress code but it still was not enough. There were also instances of them berating employees after they were yelled at for poor metrics for the year. This trickle down finger pointing is not a good management style and half the floor is looking for work elsewhere due to it. They also have been expecting a 90% or above call quality ratio from everyone on the floor but I've only seen them enforce this on people they don't really like. The singling out is a huge deal here and I know a couple people are looking at taking legal action. I keep telling them they wont have a leg to stand on though as the company will take HR steps to make sure they will be protected. Truly abhorrent behavior and it's really sad to see the turn around so high from things that can be handled more simply and with a more experienced hand in management. To put one thing in perspective we were all told we could hang up on belligerent customers for years now and the highest management on the floor was apparently not even aware of this activity so that "policy" changed quickly. The total detachment and ignorance from someone on the same floor is inexcusable. And finally the career opportunities were limited after hire here. They started us with 6 months and we can move elsewhere in the company, then changed it to a year shortly after.

Pros

- Employee break and relaxation rooms - Free coffee - Free services (phone, internet, and TV) - Free parking - 24/7 on site security presence - Green Time (unpaid time off during slow hours) - Paid holidays (double time) - Vacation time is forwarded at the beginning of the year - 1 month of training prior to taking calls - Most customers are pleasant to deal with, resolving issues can feel rewarding - Coworkers were always very friendly and kind - Casual dress down days, maybe once per month

Cons

- Strict atmosphere, everything from the dress code to the call handling procedures are micromanaged - Extremely disrespectful customers are a common occurrence, expect at least one or two per shift - No 3 strikes rule for abusive customers (you must handle them, not allowed to drop or transfer the call even if they resort to personal attacks). Dropped calls are grounds for immediate termination. - Escalating calls takes a long time for a lead/supervisor to handle (15 - 20 minutes average) - Calls are usually back to back, "slow" periods are only 1 - 3 minutes between each call - Using the "work time" state for taking notes after each call is discouraged, if a call is dropped expect to take the next call immediately without any preparation or warning - Personal time (I.E. bathroom breaks) are heavily monitored and corrective action will be taken if you do not wait until your break - QA calls are heavily micromanaged, points are deducted for factors such as "voice inflection" - Overtime opportunities are few and far between - Work stress is taken home, I would get anxious in the time leading to starting my shift (only work I've taken on that made me feel this way)

Pros

Good benefits, including really good PTO.

Cons

Terrible management, all they do is micro manage. People wear slippers to work or club dresses, it's awful. Absolutely no employee engagement the company is to cheap to do things for their employees. Also, no innovation at all. Their way is the highway and within a dying industry you might want to take some feedback.
