      DO NOT WORK HERE! No Compassion for it's front line workers - 35 year employee terminated without cause

      Working with clients that are so loving.

      I worked for this company for almost 35 years full time overnight. In August I got into a car accident (while leaving my overnight shift). Unfortunately I had to take FMLA leave and literally one day after my FMLA allotment was over they terminated me (even though the current HR lead received my doctors notice that I needed just a few more days of leave to be at 100% to be able to lift the clients/patients). She terminated me without notice even though we had constant communication via email - I received a letter in the mail (that broke my heart). This place does not care about it's employees. A 35 year career working with Spectrum just to be treated this way. Shame on you Spectrum. I even contacted the CEO's office to advise him of what was happening and they never even bothered calling me back. I'll forever miss the clients and just wish I had a chance to say goodbye.

      This Spectrum for Living staff member was afforded over 12 weeks of FMLA, more than is legally required for an employer to provide, and health benefits were continued for this additional period of time as well. Unfortunately due to the staffing needs of the program serving developmentally disabled adults, the employee was separated from employment and encouraged to re-apply when she was able to return to work, which she never did.
