Pros

Customers, health insurance, 401k, paid vacation, tuition reimbursement.

Cons

No life outside of store, expectations are unrealistic at times, management spends to much time thinking about tasks and it takes away from good customer service, mandatory picnics instead of a employee function who can bring family, little pay for CSRs, you can not keep good people at 7.50 an hour and can only give them 24 hours a week. Politics.

Pros

Decent pay for management. Pay is received weekly.

Cons

Training programs need to be completed fully. You're given a schedule of training topics but these are not covered, from management to cashiers the training program is not covered properly and completely. Non-management pay and available hours are laughable. Benefits are expensive. Call-offs happen often, and since no one is permitted more labor hours or overtime, it's normally the store manager that has to fill in for these shifts and still work their normal shift of 5am to 3pm. There are no breaks or lunches. Bonuses are very hard to achieve. The requirements are so strict that many will never see one or will get a very meager bonus. The inspections are the worst and happen randomly. Even items outside of your control, like soda machines being broken down, count against you even if you have a work order in for it. Labor. You're expected to delegate tasks (and by delegate I mean do a majority of it yourself, of course) to employees to ensure great customer service and a clean, well running store. Well that can't happen when you pile 10 hours of work on top of someone and expect them to get it done in 7 to 8 hours. Some thing is always lacking, either in customer service or cleanliness. As with most retail jobs, you're threatened constantly of being fired if sales people are not meeting their sales goals, mainly on candy, food and how many people we get to sign up for the rewards card. Most people already have the card, and if someone doesn't want one, you can't force one on them. Even "cheating" and activating a new card and just throwing it away gets you in trouble so it's a no win scenario for everyone. As a result, turn over rates at this company are massive. They say that the average manager has 8 years of service with the company, but I can't see how. It's been 6 months for me and I already despise this company and am looking for employment outside of the retail arena.

Pros

As a whole, all employees managed to perform together as a team.

Cons

I knew going in that the job would never go anywhere and the pay is very low.
