Pros

Flexible Room to grow and move up in the company Benefits are pretty good Weekly paycheck Ability to show leadership and to handle responsibility Ok pay

Cons

Upper management (DM's and up) are EXTREMELY out of touch with the current state of the business. They do not care about what it actually takes to run a successful customer based business and instead rely on the "numbers" If the "numbers" aren't good, then you are doing a poor job. They ask you to increase sales, and lower overhead costs, but will barely give you enough labor hours to keep the place open (and there are a LOT of stores that should not be open 24 hours) They continue to pile stuff on the management and CSRs and provide no further compensation. They expect 3 people to have complete control of a 24 hour store, when you need more than that to keep things running smoothly. Forcing people to sell candy as a way to earn a bonus is not the best way to keep good employees, especially when you only pay them $7.25 an hour and expect them to run a register, clean the entire store and clean up after NASTY customers, cook and serve food, detail clean (painting the poles in the parking lot) sell candy, ask for money for the childrens hospital, and do it all with a friendly demeanor and a smile on their face. No wonder the turnover rate is so high.

Pros

Good working environment. Great opportunities for advancement for those willing to work for it! Supportive co-workers. Great Corporate Social Responsibility.

Cons

Sometimes, the older generation tends to look at college education more favorably than life experience. New college graduates are often chosen for positions which require more social skills. Wish we could pay our part time employees and store employees better.
