Pros

Great, friendly co-workers. I worked 3rd shift at a very busy truck stop, it was never boring!

Cons

The ECE is redicoulse to get completed! Found many error's that the other shifts signed off that the work was completed, when it obviously had not been done. This happened because they were forced to sign off on stuff because they were scored on it! Also, don't answer the phone after 2am, I got scammed by someone "claiming" they were store support. They weren't, and I was promptly fired.

Pros

They offer some good benefits including 401k, double pay on holidays. paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision. The company is very enthusiastic about growth and eager to continue growing, which offer many potential openings to move up the ladder quickly.

Cons

Very high expectations on a day-to-day basis, which include a task sheet that has to be initialed everyday for the designated tasks completed. There are monthly inspections that only stress out managements and employees and most stores fail one or both of the two inspections given each month. Company is currently having major difficulties hiring and maintaining a large enough workforce, so most stores are under staffed and a lot of times employees are working by themselves. However, they still expect us to be able to complete all the tasks on a day-to-day basis and always have the store 'inspection ready'. Very stressful, annoying, and irritable job. Most people get sick and fed up with it in under six months and quit. 75% of our new hires stop showing up before their training has even been completed and most of management complain about 'corporate' or 'Speedway' and how greedy they are. Just what I have noticed at my store and what I have heard from managers and employees at other stores. I am sure your experience depends mostly on the store your at and how your Store Manager runs things.

Pros

Speedway is a large company- over 39,000 employees, that feels like a small one. Our management is approachable and has an open door policy. We have comprehensive training programs and we value the opinions of our employees. We have a promote from within culture that allows employees to do many things throughout their career and not have to change companies. We have good benefit programs.

Cons

We have a very centralized system for many processes and sometimes what works in Michigan may not always work in another area. Sometimes work/life balance can suffer.
