There was significant spending on company swag and an in-person retreat shortly after the company lost major clients. During a period of financial uncertainty, these decisions felt misaligned with employee priorities. More than anything, employees wanted clarity, stability, and reassurance around job security. The retreat, while well-intentioned, could have been handled virtually and at far lower cost. Choices like this created a disconnect between leadership priorities and what employees actually needed during uncertain times. Overall, leadership lacked strategic focus during critical moments, which negatively impacted morale and confidence in the company’s direction.
