Really toxic workplace!

Pros

Really brilliant, great people work here

Cons

Nepotism, bullying, inexperienced and heartless leadership; Top executives don't take responsibility for their mistakes and are more than happy to pinpoint mistakes on their staff any chance they get.

Pros

Two offices in the United States -- Boulder, CO and San Francisco, CA, both of which are beautiful cities.

Cons

This is a cut-throat environment. At the surface there seems to be a 'family' atmosphere. However, there is internal competition among employees to subvert colleague contributions and innovations. From personal experience, this will lead to in-fighting and thus break the solidarity of the company and likely result in longer term goals failing. Further, the management tends to behave in a very passive aggressive manner (i.e., one-on-one meetings where changes are promised and then somehow immediately 'forgotten' once the meeting is over).

Pros

-A promising business model pioneering the smallsat industry, if it scales. -Travel to other offices encourages international bonding and teamwork. -Core of long-term employees show outstanding ethics and expertise, the kind of people who encourage and challenge you to do your best. -Engineer leadership and IT infrastructure are in good hands. -CEO travels to each office and has engineer feedback meetings.

Cons

-A history of challenges in accounting and finance: recent internet outage due to lack of bill payment, etc. -very first-year startup problems at a 6-year old company. -Coaching and Career growth are given lip service yet very low on their radar. I had 3 managers in 3 years as one would jump ship every year. -No policy for employee retention. Very high attrition rate resulting in overworked engineers taking long vacations, resulting in constant tech debt. -Instead of any pep talks on process improvement or verbal/written warnings, I saw people needing areas of improvement hustled out the door with generic reasons given to staff. -Managers follow no policy or culture of accountability. Human Resources talks a big game yet situations requiring proactive finesse are handled with gruff corporate distance, or public complaining. -Each office is a rumor mill and morale shifts with the wind. I saw a lot of strong talent walk out or "walked out" due leaderships's over-promising and under-delivering on actual technology goals vs. sales results.
