Smoke and mirrors.

Pros

Upper management boasts the smartest man alive, if you doubt it, just ask him. You'll get your paycheck at least 50% of the time.

Cons

Complete sham. Zero interest in customer or employee satisfaction, just trying to keep juggling long enough to sell the company. If you're looking for a hostile work environment and some free coffee, this is the place for you. However, if you value your professional reputation and don't want to have to lie to your customers, the amount of information is overwhelming.

Pros

Some great people doing their best in an impossible situation

Cons

Yeah, no one is going to take these 5 star reviews from management seriously. Earlier this year, the Spireon Glassdoor rating was a more accurate 2.7, which I guess causes problems in recruiting? This is the worst place I have ever worked. A strange dysfunctional culture where raising quality issues puts a big target on your back, because the core value is not questioning anything so the place can be sold. An annoying high traffic "open office" setup with people packed together to save money on floor space. A weird disconnected sense of no integrity or accountability. Truly, genuinely evil HR. The technical chaos of a startup that was thrown together with duct tape only to be sold. I would strongly advise IT professionals to avoid this awful little company, and would strongly advise potential investors to be skeptical of every claim. Note to current Spireon employees: when they get rid of you, HR will try to get you to sign a highly restrictive "Release of Claims" agreement, saying "oh, this is very standard".

Spireon Response

At Spireon, all employees are encouraged to share their feedback with the management team, including an opportunity to share anonymously through our Employee Survey. Employees can also voice concerns via skip-level meetings which gives them visibility with upper management. With regular communication, transparency, and action plans to address employee pain points, we are affecting positive change, and our recent Glassdoor ratings reflect this. Our culture continues to be results-driven, but also focused on work-life balance and having fun. For IT professionals that are considering Spireon, we have achieved amazing milestones in the last 2 years. Engineers have the opportunity to work with a cutting edge technology stack and a highly scalable AWS cloud environment. Our product teams have revamped their development process to deliver the most innovative products along with an automated test environment to ensure we deliver the highest quality products. While terminations are not always easy for all parties, our goal for the HR team is to be supportive and sensitive to the needs of all Spireon employees, even as they exit the company.

Employees constantly disappear

Pros

Free coffee (the cheapest they can get by with) and if you're a worker not management or an executive, a close bond with who you're in the trenches with.

Cons

Profits over people, only out to sell the company, zero appreciation, intimidation, no culture, constant fear of being fired, bro executives, meetings over action, catering to sales team, reactionary, over promising and under delivering to customers, tech riddled with issues, rushing to market just to make a sale, long hours demanded and checked by CEO, disorganized, changing priorities that kills momentum, fast paced with no eye on quality, lack of resources, HR run for the benefit of the company not employees (new boss=all new dept in less than a year) it goes on. The most disturbing is seeing employees who are here one day and gone the next. Long time people who built the company and worked nights and weekends just cut and replaced with a cheaper warm body or an execs friends. It's no wonder that so many ex employees go on to work for competitors or start their own rival companies.
