Pros

Wonderful people to work with (with the exception of most of executives) In house recording studio was top of the line (but came with strict rules) Office location was convenient

Cons

Management - inexperienced, difficult to work with, not transparent at all, poor communicators Work/Life Balance - 50+ hour work weeks are the norm. Plan to bring work home frequently WFH/PTO - Good luck trying to take time off. The company has a lot of turnover that it became impossible to take time off because you'd be so swamped covering responsibilities for all the missing people. As for WFH, most people do it so it's not very structured Turnover - I've never seen a "start-up" go through so many employees during the 10 or so months I spent there. Do a LinkedIn search of former employees and ask them about their experience. Leadership - IMO, they never really seemed to be on the same page about anything. The company recently received a round of funding and then laid off a significant portion of the company. Seems like the growth is going in reverse Benefits - Terrible benefits. They have so many plans to pick from, it takes hours to find the one the best suits your needs. As for costs, if you are single, you will be fine, but if you have a significant other or family, the costs go up exponentially. Compensation - I'm not sure how well other departments paid throughout the company, but based what I was paid along with a few former colleagues, we discovered that it was not competitive. Culture - Lots of cliques that remained closed to new hires. Growth - very little opportunity to grow. (hence the turnover)

Pros

I've used Splice for years for my music. It's been awesome to be on the inside now. I wish I knew about the employee perks years ago because I would have saved a lot of money. Working with creative people who are all super passionate about music is awesome.

Cons

Typical growing pains of a tech company growing fast. Lots going on. Sometimes too much.

Pros

- Visionary Founders - Hybrid ecommerce and music co. combining two of my main interests - Transparency around business strategy / roadmap / quarterly results - Industry-leading market positioning. No true competitors. We created this space and we're killing it! - Partnerships w/ musicians, labels, producers, tastemakers, plugin manufacturers - Smart, passionate co-workers - Laid-back, relaxed office environment - Free Splice accounts - In-office music studio ( just finished my first single!) - Access to the music industry ( regular office visits by legendary producers, DJ's, etc.) - Great parties / company events - Generous 401K match and stock options grants - Strong series B funding (We're on the radar of leading VC's)

Cons

- Growing pains, literal and figurative - Some blindspots in the org with regard to operations & executing on strategy - Decisions sometimes based on "gut" rather than data - Some hesitancy to embrace genres outside of EDM / Hip-hop
