Pros

Amazing product, passionate about music culture, lots of fun people

Cons

Poor management of people, money and resources. Hired massively and then laid of massively. Constant restructuring. Unclear vision. Unclear profitability. After awhile the positivity and energy just starts to come off as fake. Constant bragging and need to prove your worth. Cliques and favoritism.

Pros

1. People are great, passionate about the product 2. Fully remote 3. Reasonable compensation and benefits, I would say the market standard for a low-tier Tech Company 4. Most of my peers who were laid off or quit on their own found much better opportunities. Splice gives you an amazing "Hunger games" type of experience which is valued by other more laid-back and established Tech companies

Cons

1. 30% were laid off and mostly not performance based but because the management was too excited by the COVID growth and over-hired a big time 2. 20% of the best people left on their own shortly after 3. People quit every week, those who are not really want to 4. The HR team is a mess, led by incompetent people changing the performance process every few months instead of actually focusing on what is important 5. The engineering team has a restructure every few month and the best people are being either fired or quit, or just sticking around scared to speak up. 6. The great inclusive culture and diverse team is gone, early Splice was amazing and felt like a place where diversity of thoughts and backgrounds is promoted. Now, the management hires their own friends to lead the organization, people are afraid to speak up. People who speak up and say something that the management doesn't like are gone within a few months.
