Thank you for your feedback. It is great to hear that you are enjoying your time at Spok and working with the latest technology. You'll be pleased to hear that our workspaces will undergo changes that will support social distancing and minimized density before we return to the office. You may be surprised to know that it is the value of our legacy products that provided us the opportunity to innovate. Spok launched our SaaS product earlier this year and is in the final stretches of our initiative to integrate those legacy, customized, on-premise products (with broad functionality) into our recently launched, innovative SaaS platform. Integrating those older products that work on older technologies is what gives our employees the advantage of working in the newer technology stack that they find so rewarding. As we continue to grow and expand our SaaS product offering, there will be many opportunities to continue to work in the latest tech stack. Stay tuned for all the exciting advancements.

Pros

Pay was average Some real decent people to work with

Cons

Management from the top down for the Eden Prairie was remote and gave little to no direction Critical issues were sidelined for months due to internal politics Often forgotten about when notifying and applying company-wide changes Management has no idea what the day to day looks like on site and isn't interested in learning. Projects often go nowhere often wasting time of the local resource on something that was never going to be implemented. No pay raises for 3 years and when they finally implemented a bonus structure they went off previous years reviews that were not ever discussed or even filled out correctly. Company has no idea how to maintain infrastructure.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re happy that you found nice people to work with at Spok but we are disappointed to hear that you felt issues were sidelined or that communications didn’t reach you. Teams at the forefront of implementing on premise software are often the first to discover project challenges. We understand it can be frustrating to discover your client is no longer ready to proceed or that requirements unexpectedly changed. Please know that when a work schedule at Spok is affected in an unpredictable way, it affects everyone involved, including leadership. Management has been very aware of the issues our customers and our teams experience with implementing and maintaining software on premise. While in the past our best recourse was to adapt, in the future our customers will have the opportunity to purchase SaaS solutions in the Cloud. For the past several years, Spok leaders including those in Professional Services have been working diligently on plans to transform our products to the SaaS platform. And, while we have 2 senior leaders who are remote, we have 7 senior leaders who work regularly in our software center offices who conduct weekly and monthly meetings, participate in employee training, and contribute to newsletters to educate our team on our transformation to SaaS and the many opportunities and benefits this change presents for customers, employees and the company. Regarding merit-based increases, they were budgeted and paid for the past three years based upon the performance level of each individual. We’re hope this response addresses some of your concerns. If you wish to discuss further, please don’t hesitate to call me or send an email. We thank you for your service and contributions to Spok.

We apologize for the delayed response to this review. We are often in awe of our Project Managers at Spok, because critical communications in healthcare is the world we operate in. Schedules may change and projects may be escalated to meet customers’ needs at a moment’s notice. Admittedly, our most successful project managers are highly adaptable and exceedingly organized in order to meet our customers’ schedules and needs. But, to excel in this role, the best PM’s plan ahead and free their schedules from obligations that might interfere with travel and working at a customer site for a week or longer. It’s not a role for everyone, but it is a role that demonstrates skill in organizing a plan and leading a team; these skills are why we provide the “pros” that you noted, the ability to work remotely and competitive compensation. We hope you find the right balance of time commitments in your next role.
