Cons

The company I once admired for its employee-friendly environment has taken a disappointing turn. Recently at our company-wide meeting, the founder and VP announced a shift in work expectations, saying that work hours are now extended from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., basically obliterating any semblance of work-life balance. Then the VP added that employees are replaceable through outsourcing. :/ As the company experiences rapid growth, it seems to have lost touch with its roots. It's now more of a sweatshop environment. Remote employees are now required to come into the office 4-5 days a week, regardless of the logistical challenges a lot of us face in commuting. It's just really disappointing to see a company take a 30-year step backward in culture.

Pros

Around April, when people in the US started to realize how bad COVID was going to be, companies started laying off people left and right. SprintRay sat down and created a plan to deal with this existential threat. We had a meeting, and our CEO and President said that beyond anything else, we had to two essential goals. 1) Survive 2) No lay-offs or furloughs. In order to pull this off, they asked all Senior management/executives if they were willing to take equity instead of cash salary for a few months so we could make the budget work to avoid lay-offs. Everyone agreed, and we didn't have any lay-offs or furloughs. Before the plan was actually put into place, we discovered that we had our 2nd most successful sales months ever, and every month after that was even more successful. We have a great company that cares about its employees and the market finds absolutely essential, even in a recession.

We truly agonized over this because we wanted to ensure no one lost their jobs because of Covid. The dedication of our people resulted in our company more than doubling in size rather than shrinking. We truly appreciate this.

Pros

THe company gives you very good healthcare

Cons

toxic workplace environment, Top management regularly screams at employees like its 1995. But if you are in tech, maybe you will enjoy it for a bit. They could and will never be public.
