Remote work option, flexible schedule

Cons

Policy limits hours working outside in faculty specialty, poor pay with newer faculty with less experience and education being paid more (unjust), workload is high, some department schools have administrators with favorites. Students aren’t prepared for college which makes a lot of work for faculty.

Tight-knit community, positive student impact, beautiful campus, professional development opportunities, mission is impactful, colleagues are passionate and supportive

Cons

The workload is overwhelming; staff is often stretched too thin, high staff turnover adds to the pressure, and constantly have to adapt to new members / cover additional tasks. Compensation doesn’t align with the volume and intensity of work required, making it hard to sustain the pace long-term
