Pros

Working with patients and their families, to support them in their time of need. Bringing quality to end-of-life. Fleet vehicle program.

Cons

Good 'ol Boys club in senior leadership. Reactive style versus proactive. Unprofessional in communication from senior leadership. Lack of understanding as to what is happening "on the ground". Lack of advancement opportunities. Rapid growth in the company has resulted in areas of neglect. There is high turn over. HR changes the benefits providers a lot, which is confusing for employees and very inconvenient. Company doesn't allow retirement contributions until 6 months of employment. Vacation accrual could be more generous--especially given the intense/high burnout rate in this line of work.

Pros

The culture of caring is the primary focus of the organization. A strong benefit program including 401K match, generous PTO, holiday, including a floating holiday, and insurance benefits are great. The company car program is also a very nice option for the staff.

Cons

The work of hospice can be trying and emotional for not only the patient, family members, caregivers, but also the hospice team members. Hospice is not an easy job, one must have a passion for providing the level of care that patients, families, and caregivers deserve.
