They do not value FTE's they prioritize Float Pool Staff and their pay!

Pros

I loved my manager. She was amazing when I was there. Kept the department put together. I only stayed as long as I did because of her. I also loved my coworkers! The Director was dreadful and the administration is far too top heavy and only care about the $$. Safe Staffing and fair pay are not things that they will fight for.

Cons

You work your tail off as FTE Staff. They have a group called the Austin Market Float Pool where the RN's and other specialists make $60-$80 per hour. For some roles it's darn near 50% higher pay than FTE's! Many of them don't float or HARDLY float and you carry the same patient loads and responsibilities.
