Pros
Staff is great. Too bad half of my friends have already left due to the cons I list below..
Cons
1. Various employee complaints about incorrectly calculated pay. This is a serious compliance issue and I'm not sure why no one has contacted the DOL. 2. Have to pay to park...snowy walks uphill suck. 3. Took away cafeteria allowance and explained that it was due to a new law. Didn't cite the law. Other hospitals in the area continue to have employee cafeteria discounts which makes one wonder if this was a misinterpretation of the law or an organized corporate attempt to save more money at the expense of the employee. 4. Consistently demonstrates that finances are more important than staff and patient wellbeing...there are too many examples to list here, but it is obvious that this company is driven, foremost, by money and profit. 5. Quality management seems non-existent. Haven't once seen my departments performance metrics and I don't even know what they are. Poor process management. They need a black belt to come into each unit - so much time wasted on poor processes. 6. Thirty minute lunches with no breaks...when it takes 5-15 to even get to the cafeteria and go through the line = little time to actually eat and reset for the next part of your shift. 7. Epic not utilized to its fullest (or leanest). Not the worst I have seen, but definitely room for improvement. 8. Education is not built in to work time, so you are expected to stay late if there is any mandatory training due. Every other company I worked for included 4-8 of scheduled time for mandatory education. 9. Was one of the first hospitals in the area to remove COVID related pay and bonuses resulting in an exodus of staff. 10. Staffing is poor and creates unsafe working environments. Based on the current environment I would expect a lack of corporate support in the event of a claim against a nurse. I can see the corporate excuses now... 11. Lack of communication with staff about the real issues effecting the workplace. This organization has a secret corporate culture, for sure. Do not expect open, honest communication. 12. Unsafe staffing ratios
