We appreciate this feedback! We are happy to report that everything you mentioned is being worked on. We have been working on getting new trucks in the field, but has been difficult in this crazy supply times. That being said, our fleet team is working on everything you mentioned. We are also working on rolling out a new ticket management system, so hopefully the whole field will be equipped with that by the end of the year. We hope to continue to be a great place to work for you and thank you for being part of the team.

Pros

New Chevy Colorado, had 7 miles on it when I got it. Brand new industry leading RD8200 locator. New phone and computer. I have everything I need to succeed. True, vehicles are equipped with cameras, and gps. If your doing your job, and following the rules, you have nothing to worry about. Besides, a company wouldn't get to this size without them, there are to many dishonest people in this world. Yes you do alot of walking, but you do an ample amount of driving as well. It's locating, you walk alot, and you work overtime, and weekends, maybe that's not for you.. You can make alot of money, especially with the overtime. There are ample amounts of opportunities for advancement as well. They have a good benefit package as well, far better than any other company I have ever worked for. The other thing is that the owner is actually around and listens to the employees. I seen it first hand while working in Salt Lake. Finally, to those who say there training is no good, I disagree Although I hired on with experience, I still had to do the company minimums and it was quite alot. Plus after the classroom, all new techs are out in the field with experienced locators where they learn the most. Keep up the good work, go Stake Center Team.

Cons

The tco** ticket system is time consuming. We need a system that runs off our phones, that way you can pull up to a job and have the plans, in this case CTL pulled up and ready. All the while the ticket info is up on your phone. You get out, locate, and snap pics that get uploaded automatically without you having to transfer them to the laptop and then upload them. Last thing is the per diem, it's been almost a month and I have not been reimbursed for 2 trips. Also, there was supposed to be a referral bonus, and a sign on bonus. But who do I call or talk to? I've told my manager. I have submitted all the paperwork. With the company the size it is, there is no clear path of who to call and there hasn't been any mention of it since, which is a big let down.

Thank you very much for all your feedback. Your pros are exactly some of the changes we have been making to help make sure you have the knowledge, tools, and resources you need to succeed. We have also been and will continue to help those opportunities of advancement be known. Stake Center Locating is proudly a career company. We are working on the ticket management system as we know that’s been a pain point for some time. Hopefully you’ll see that get resolved by the end of this year. As far as the bonuses, there is a way to reach Human Resources through the Employee Homepage. There is a section at the top called Get Help, which will take you either to IT or HR. Thank you again for the feedback and we hope you continue to enjoy your career with Stake Center Locating.

Pros

Take home truck Unbothered for most of the day by anyone. Ability to set your own hours within reason of appropriate work load and start time.

Cons

Primary concern seems to be getting away with a lot for the least. They wont get extra permanent staff despite bringing to their attention that they were under staffed for a long time. They will say the cost of labor is too much but it is still pennies compared to how much the utility operators are charged. Training is nonexistant, but thats also in part due to the utility operator not knowing how to locate as well, even though they set the standards. Take home truck has drive cams now. Bonus structure is a joke. Again pennies compared to how much the company makes.

Thank you very much for this feedback. Were there specific new rules that you felt we should have included the locate technicians for? Reminder that we do have locate technicians all over the US, so what might be good for the goose might not be good for the gander. The drive cameras are not meant to be a con, but rather they are meant to help support better driving habits in work trucks and can be (and have been) beneficial in proving not-at-fault accidents. We do appreciate your feedback as we are always evaluating to improve in many aspects.
