*The job was generally pretty laid back a provided a good work-life balance (outside of summit season) *The organization was very well funded/connected making it, and by extension, your work feel societally relevant

Cons

*Organizational goals, and consequently organizational structure, were unclear and were constantly changing. This led to a lot of confusing org-charts and the absence of any clear hierarchy. *The lack of consistent organizational goals (and lack of profit motive) made it difficult to accurately assess both organizational and individual performance. This meant a lot of the wrong people ended up in the wrong seats.

I work on a small team that really celebrates each others wins. Unlimited PTO that is actually encouraged to use is great as well.

Cons

The diversity is lacking. The company's version of diversity is "diversity in thought and opinion" not race/age/gender or the traditional sense of diversity. So, the office is white, and upper leadership is white men.

Pros

The organization promotes a culture which is relaxed, empowering, and friendly. How much this culture is actualized depends on the team and the manager. My manager is fantastic, I use my PTO liberally and I am trusted to make decisions and I know my input is valued.

Cons

The lack of hierarchy and rules does make things more complicated but ultimately it allows for more freedom. It's sometimes difficult to understand who the decision maker is on projects or to hold people accountable. Sometimes employees will hide behind the colloquial sayings/words of the culture to justify bad decisions.
