Pros

Great training and access to multiple groups within a global organization. Very steep learning curve for recent grads, but everyone is willing to teach and develop the junior staff.

Cons

Career progression is often slow and often compensation is below market.

Avoid middle to back offices at all costs

Pros

If you are incompetent and aiming for mediocrity at most, then join risk or finance functions. You will never get fired.

Cons

Worst corporate culture and conduct in middle and back offices, cascading all the way from the top. Sexual harassment occurs daily but it's always the victim who gets asked to leave - obviously fostering and encouraging inappropriate behavior
