Poor Management

Pros

Medical benefits in the US were excellent and didn't cost much. Definitely a plus for those with young families.

Cons

Low salary compared to peer financial institutions. During the consent order in the US they had poor management which led to a toxic work environment - they gave promotions and transfers to unqualified/inexperienced people. This led to many awesome coworkers leaving for better opportunities.

Good for entry level, not much else.

Pros

- PTO and Benefits - Most people are nice and friendly - Good place to learn the business primarily

Cons

Too much nepotism and politics. If you’d like to advance in this company, better learn how to affix your lips to a posterior! There’s always an excuse for lack of advancement. Inept people somehow get all the promotions, and actual knowledgeable people stay at the bottom.

Pros

People are generally friendly and good environment. Interesting, fairly diverse and international and good work life balance and pto, good benefits

Cons

Low job security and there are recent job cuts everywhere and constant restructurings affecting every department. Many contract employees and cost cuts/functions (and other signs) that show poor management and seemingly stagnant future. Not a major player so you kind of know what you're signing up for and get some work life balance but security issues make it lopsided in evaluating. Consider this more seriously and honestly would probably only advise for someone in tight circumstances or maybe at entry level needing any kind of initial exposure. Pay is below market and 401K does not immediately vest. Potentially longer hours dealing with overseas.
