Pros

Diversified business sectors, pleasent work environment (well at least outside Alberta) Good employee review and employee goal setting process. Engagement in remote communities. Poor business development and tracking processes. No CRM in place. Slowly establishing an Aboriginal Engagement focus.

Cons

Poor communication of corporate goals across all sectors Poor integration of Project Management processes across all sectors. Very poor Project Management Framework system. (not top tier at all) Poor communication and siloed thinking across sectors and business units Poor representation of women and ethic minorities in Senior Management (99.99% of the EVP and SVP level are middle age white men) Old boys network keeping some 'dead weight' around that should have been culled. Too many VP's and 'bosses' brought on through acquisitions. Poor oversight of key EVP's who are kingdom building.

Pros

-The office is nice -Some good coworkers -Employee Share Purchase Plan and RRSP matching

Cons

-Overall Benefits and pay below average -Zero wage increase in years despite additional workload (they are cutting a lot of salaries, so it could be worse) -Zero professional development assistance from the company. You pay out of your own pocket to keep your skills up to date so the company can make more money. -Few career opportunities -Less people all the time (layoffs) to do the work -Poor work life balance if you want to get the work done and not be the next one cut -It is a large company run like a makeshift network of hundreds of small companies. There is very little consistency to be found from one Business Center to the next.
