Pros

Very easy going, open-minded company equity that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. Especially understanding of neuro-divergent employees.

Cons

The incredible complexity of their systems is overwhelming at times. too many places to look to try to find data. Some of their systems are not conducive to productivity.

Pros

Decent amount of PTO (but also not great), benefits like insurance and 401k, some seasons are busy with steady work and OT, most people are pleasant and great to work with (at least within sciences, cannot comment for other sectors)

Cons

Not enough communication between management, some hires don't have a direct supervisor in their home office, company structure is confusing, they aren't afraid to let people go around the holidays

Pros

Diverse Projects: Stantec offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including infrastructure, transportation, water resources, and urban development. This diversity keeps the work engaging and allows for continuous learning. Collaborative Environment: The New York office fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture. Teams are supportive, and there’s a strong emphasis on mentorship, which is great for professional growth. Work-Life Balance: Stantec values work-life balance, offering flexible work hours and hybrid work options. This is particularly helpful in a fast-paced city like New York. Professional Development: The company invests in its employees through training programs, certifications, and opportunities to attend industry conferences. This commitment to growth is a huge plus.

Cons

High Workload at Times: Depending on project deadlines, the workload can become intense, requiring longer hours. This can be challenging, especially when managing multiple projects simultaneously. Bureaucratic Processes: Like many large firms, Stantec has its share of bureaucratic processes, which can slow down decision-making and project approvals.
