Pros

Solid brand name Enthusiasm of senior leadership Willingness to try something new & bold Everyone knows Staples, i.e. there is no need to further describe where I work when anyone asks Work/life balance

Cons

Members of senior leadership with egos and lack of respect towards associates Self-promotion versus being rewarded for a job well done Visibility of senior leadership in the hallways Different rules and values across departments (ex. one allows work from home, another does not) Clear criteria for promotion that are consistent across the company

Pros

Fast paced, dynamic environment. Great people. Business Casual atmosphere. Gym on site. Great cafeteria. Leadership attempting to change culture. Lots of young professionals coming entering the corporate location.

Cons

Tenured associates leaving at a rapid pace. Associate moral is down. Long hours are expected. Benefits have decreased over the past couple years. Do more with less people.

Pros

You didn't have to leave to get food. Office products were also easy, when needed.

Cons

We were in no less than 4 corporate re-orgs. 41 VPs had to sign off on funding a project. I have never seen such a toxic environment, I have been involved with organizations who screw each other over to get ahead, at least they were getting ahead. Staples management created a culture of screwing each other over, just for laughs and to see people get sick with stress. Oh, and a food line for your holiday party? Wow, just wow - never, have I ever.
