Pros

The IT department has a lot of talented individuals, each with their own focus and drive. Work/life balance has been a focus for most, with measures being taken to alleviate the stress of 24/7 duties for each team by adding 3rd party vendors to cover certain duties. Further, leadership invests deeply into ensuring each employee has the attention they deserve as well as encouragement to really give their all and own their department. Very little micro-managing while still receiving support from the team in their tasks when it's asked for.

Cons

The department does run lean by design, so occasionally, there is some confusion on who should handle certain things on the team, which can lead to slowdowns / missed opportunities.

Pros

Now, that I look back at my time with this company, it is difficult for me find any pros. I always believed in this company and the leadership, I was deceived and was let go without warning, without a formal PIP or formal training. I trusted and put in so much work , time and energy, even on my days off and vacation without, I did not expect any special treatment nor recognition, because behavioral health has always been my passion.

Cons

Poor leadership, expansion without understanding the landscape. The company keeps and hires individuals that are not familiar with California Mental Health Law and expectations from DHCS nor the variations in how services are delivered in multiple counties. There is favoritism especially if you are Caucasian and their claim of inclusion and diversity is only on the surface. The pay for non executive or administrators does not meet the standards of living here in California, they promote individuals for no reason, and have so many titles and roles that it is difficult to catch up.

Pros

Overall, I'm happy working here. The management and staff are very supportive, and the training manager is highly professional, ensuring you're well-prepared in every aspect before starting. The work system is well-organized, with thorough documentation and a solid database. One of the best aspects of working at Stars is the flexibility, which greatly contributes to overall well-being. We have a good QA team.

Cons

Some roles may involve working with challenging clients, which can be demanding. However, for professionals who are skilled in their field, these situations are generally manageable. Would be good to have a little bit better compensation, so stuff would stay permanently. The hiring process can be a bit complicated and time-consuming. As a result, strong candidates may accept other offers before completing all the steps.
