Pros

$16.00/hour to pretty much read a script all day and only 20 hours a week, but there's almost always opportunities for additional hours. Customers can be friendly and interesting.

Cons

No flexibility on schedules. You get a schedule before training starts, it changes again during training and there is a small list to choose from. All were early morning shifts and not at all negotiable. Managers tell you to fill out of form if you need a new schedule (for school, kids, etc..) but it almost always gets denied. You sit your entire shift and read the exact same script every single phone call every day. There is no room for freedom as everything you say and do is 100% monitored. For this job you MUST be okay with having everything you say reviewed and listened to. It is a call center. Likewise, everything you do on your computer is also monitored and seen. Not much variety in the work and I would not work here again. I was so bored during my last few weeks that I just couldn't stay any longer. Would not recommend to free thinking, open minded individuals who like creativity or variety in their work life.

Pros

Work/life balance- when you leave, you leave PTO- even with recent change there is is plenty of time Benefits- good heath plan Pay for designations, and yearly bonus.

Cons

Micromanaged, favoritism, and unorganized. Low performers get ahead quicker than high performers. A lot of dead weight still employed messing up people's policies. Low pay, very low compared to competition. Even though change has to happen in insurance, the change at State Farm is messy as if a 5th grader is designing change strategy. Training sucks!!! (there are 100 different ways, resources, and updates to 1 process which should be simple..smh). Production over quality, bad door to open.

Pros

Great benefits, pension, and opportunity for growth IF you live in one of 4 major locations. Decent salary for the industry once you move past entry level. Opportunity for bonus for most people.

Cons

This company has lost it's focus on it's people, leading to overworked and under appreciated staff, in turn providing poor customer service. Everything is turning production/call center focused, less critical thinking and actual use of talent and skill.
