Pros

- Potential for good growth, as long as you work for the right people, management, mentors - Work/life balance can be okay (however, post-covid, this has changed trending downwards in some cases) - Good compensation packages for new employees hired from big4 or competitors

Cons

- Company politics/red tape - Culture is currently lacking - Internal promotion does not come with market comparable pay rises (unless turnover is increasing, and they need to increase/help retention) - Expenses always tightening across the board - GHR department is out of touch, and non-existence for employee assistance - Some nepotism is alive and well - Lack of succession planning - Performance review process is forced-bell-curve based to drive expense cutting - A 'global' company that is primarily US-centric in matters than have global impact

Not a great career stop

Pros

It’s really hard to find pros after my experience in this organization for many years.

Cons

Lack of leadership. Lots of talk, not a lot of effective action. Long hours and no resources. Typical meetings run from 7am to 630p daily. After that is when you can start doing your work for the day. Outsourced HR functions to India - it is not working.

Leadership issues

Pros

Flexibility, Pay, Benefits, Some leaders are absolutely excellent and do not get the credit they deserve

Cons

Leaders tend to rotate among the various centers of excellence. Each one trying to "make their mark" on that function resulting in regular restructuring, constantly changing priorities, and often unnecessary layoffs. Some senior leaders continue to demonstrate behaviors not consistent with the code of conduct or the general philosophy of the organization but still get promoted. Observed what can only be termed as corporate bullying from several senior leaders who continue to find their way into taking on new or increased responsibilities.
