Pros

Great benefits that went into effect immediately after hire. HR team is friendly. Very minimal company allowance but it's better than nothing.

Cons

No one seems to be on the same page or even know what is going on most of the time. Extremely hostile work environment and several complaints were made to HR and management. No training - I had to figure out most everything on my own and unfortunately HR did not seem to know what was going on either or how to handle situations. The team I worked with was definitely the least experienced/knowledgeable of any team I'd worked with before at other companies, and it's probably their insecurity in themselves that makes them so aggressive and impossible to work with.

Pros

Great company culture, generous pay and benefits, store management and team was fantastic at the time I worked there, and Stella herself is a wonderful, down to earth person who cares very much about her employees and about environmental impact and responsibility. Involved and caring team and corporate. A really fun and wonderful company to work for, where I learned and grew a lot.

Cons

None, I worked at a great store with great team members and management. It was a really fantastic time in my career path that I wish I could repeat. Rare atmosphere to find.

Pros

Comprehensive insurance, very generous PTO benefits, close knit team members

Cons

So much micromanaging and task distribution, the gossip is often wondering what some employees even do. Store level team commonly feel like a glorified assistants to office level employees bogged down with random / inconsiderate / asinine tasks, with the extra stress of selling. Many of the office team don’t know how to communicate in a healthy manner, to the point you avoid interaction even when they can actively solve a money producing problem. Internal complaints tend to go unresolved. Even in a perfect world of the most experienced store team, a trusting upper management, the worlds largest books & a steady stream of traffic, the technology issues are beyond imaginable (most alarmingly the POS constantly crashing, non user friendly UI, the simple task of taking a client’s money is very far from easy; wasn’t always like this but doesn’t seem to get anywhere closer to fixing). Tools for leveraging & working with luxury clients are commonly incomplete, broken, or non-existent. Product is a fine. It seems to be far more popular in other regions, but constantly missing the mark with American consumers & unable to find it’s target. Even pre-COVID, trying to grow a client book was a struggle with the designs and store assortment consistently missing the mark. (Always is there talk for years about capturing the younger consumer, but Stella was & is a “mom” brand, and things like size availability is hair pulling for employees and ostracizing for consumers.) Stella McCartney has in theory powerful values with environmentalism, collectivism, optimism... it is all but meaningless outside of London / in the United States. Brand has a lot of potential in the United States, hopefully they find it before they have to sell any more wheels on this train.
