Pros

Nice team, flexible schedule, bonuses

Cons

Billing is almost impossible to meet, pressure, no time off at holidays, people care more about money than actually helping people

Pros

Cool clients and coworkers. Some management is ok.

Cons

Upper management are more interested in money than their workers and clients. They provide unrealistic expectations of work while they relax in their posh offices and apartments during covid. Abismal response to staff safety during covid and provide little to no training for most staff. Trainings that are available are garbage.

Pros

Step Up is growing and providing wonderful opportunities for their demographic. This is an awesome place to start your career and introduction to the field. The flexibility at some of their sites is great; there are many employees there that care about their work and the culture they are building, which is great.

Cons

This is not the place where you will advance. There are many decisions made that will leave you pondering whether they care about staff or just concerned about meeting contract requirements. At there hollywood site, for example, there is very little training provided to incoming staff. Be prepared to be thrown into the fire. I would say if you're looking to an intro to social work this is great, however, if you're looking grow, this isn't it. More importantly, their initiatives towards an inclusive and equitable environment are suspect to say the least.
