This is the most awful and dysfunctional company I have ever worked for. There is an insidious pervasive culture of finger pointing and throwing people under the bus to deflect attention from yourself. Ever since the UPS leadership came in, the place has been ruled by fear and intimidation. They scrutinize everything. I have never worked at a company where C-suite level people were so into the business of local operations like they didn’t have anything better to do than to worry about a single service order. Every conference call is a public shaming and bullying session. (and there are a lot of them… we even had calls about calls to pre-game because the level of anxiety was so high). Monarch, the new business transformation program is a complete disaster. I cannot even imagine how many millions of dollars are being lost at Shred It since the new platform went live in September. Upper management is so out of touch and obsessed with new metrics and reports that come out every day, the would rather have “beautiful” numbers than actual revenue come in so they tell you to cancel orders to maintain good looking numbers. The reason behind that is that it keeps your location off the “naughty list,” and you won’t have to be publicly excoriated on one of the weekly metrics calls. Every email that comes out makes you fear for your job and turnover in general is through the roof. Safety at this company is ridiculously over the top when it comes to paperwork and administration. You have to do a lot of administrative tasks that amounts to a lot of busy work that no one has time to do. Supervisors are underpaid and expected to work 12+ hour days. It’s a huge red flag when the CEO sends out videos saying that if you don’t leave work exhausted, you didn’t do a good day’s work. Stay the heck away!
