Pros

I make more money now than otr, take weekly breaks at home, very easy once you learn what you're doing.

Cons

A lot of ignorant trainers, paycheck screw ups, some stubborn dispatchers won't let you go home on time for vacation, 36 hr shifts can be tough. Also, the garage does not do very good vehicle maintenance for the new drivers getting their first truck. I went through 4 trucks in my first month of employment because they were junk. I also do not like Volvos.

Pros

You get your CDL, and are an OTR truck driver within a month

Cons

This company uses shady techniques to garnish your paycheck to facilitate repairs to their hardware.

There is a lot of misinformation in this review. First, you cannot get your CDL and be a Solo Driver within a month at Stevens Transport. Our shortest contracted training facility takes three weeks to graduate and prepare you to take your CDL test. Then, you are invited back into the office for a three-day orientation and assigned to a Driver Trainer. With your driver trainer, you will have to drive all 5 regions of the United States and a set number of miles in order to graduate. The amount of time spent with a Driver Manager fluctuates, but on average our students graduate after 6 weeks or more. We do not garnish our employee’s paychecks for repairs to company equipment. In fact, we do not have as large problem with repairs as our competitors since the oldest truck in our fleet is a 2014. There are times in which you will have money taken out of your check, but that is only when you have been given an advance, or participated in school sponsorship or a tuition share program to help you pay for schooling before you have your CDL. If you are concerned about what is being taken out of your paycheck, I encourage you to speak with either your Driver Manager or your Driver Councilor so that the situation can be addressed!

Good school, bad company

Pros

Great school, good training, good food on the yard and nice equipment.

Cons

The business team does not communicate with each other to help protect the contractors pay. Miles have been extremely low. Haven’t broke over 2000 miles in a month and not for the lack of trying, last month I’ve had to argue and fight for every penny I got paid.
