Great company with many problems...

Pros

The product is great, the employees are amazing, and the mills are very well run by the local managers. Stimson is world class in the 2x4 world.

Cons

Where do I start...Stimson is backward with regard to women and minorities. The new CFO/COO is unethical and even though the company is profitable due to the boost in the housing market, he is the worst thing to happen to Stimson. The CEO is brilliant, but has lost his passion for Stimson as he concentrates on politics in Oregon and beyond. There is so much untapped potential at Stimson that is being buried by the above mentioned COO. So sad...

Pros

Good at rewarding their workers with monthly safety awards, and quarterly savings bonds, and occasional cookouts.

Cons

Not much on individual employee recognition. No reviews so you know how your doing or communication with supervisors or management. Ever.
