Pros

Great pay, benefits, and staff support. As a legal assistant, my colleagues and supervisors are all very supportive and ready to listen to my ideas on how to change the processes. They care about recruiting and keeping the talent.

Cons

As a large firm with a still somewhat newer IP department (around a decade), some processes can be refined. Luckily, those in management do listen to suggestions.

The firm has great talent, especially given the size of the firm and its regional, rather than national, presence. I have experience and responsibilities well above that typically offered to my level of attorney.

Cons

This is likely a result of the business model (partnership), but the lack of communication and/or understanding among the partners seems to sometimes lead to short-sighted decisions.
