Pros

High income potential. Good people at the ground level. A handful of elite instructors. Free lunch on final day of the month(mostly so you don't leave your desk or the office for lunch). Some really good managers who actually care.

Cons

Leadership at Stormwind appears to be exploiting the competitive job market to enforce stricter control over employees. Perks are vanishing rapidly; earned flex days were the first casualty. The next move was only providing one day a week to WFH in a "hybrid" workplace. It's obvious that they are pushing for 5 days a week in the office and that shouldn't be long after. Back to back zoom meetings at home are now back to back zoom meetings in an office, with a public restroom in total disrepair. All this conveniently before the onset of Arizona's scorching summer. Crucial business decisions appear to be made arbitrarily, and the business model seems entirely reactive rather than proactive. Product launches are an unmitigated disaster, with employees bearing the brunt of the fallout while the product demos poorly. Quotas have been raised across the board for all sales reps, disregarding individual circumstances. A $5K increase per individual (regardless of whether your quota is $15,000 or $85,000). You'll also be apologizing to all your new clients right after you sign them up, since the skeleton support crew can't keep up with a 2 person staff, leaving clients not even having credentials to sign in until the sales rep asks for them at least once. The focus is the cash grab, not supporting the clients who trusted you with their business. The exciting new products they provide are other company's training, they just slap a Stormwind Logo on it and sell it at ten times the cost. Despite the presence of genuinely compassionate individuals at the ground level and supportive managers, their efforts often seem overshadowed by higher-ups prioritizing personal agendas. Commission theft remains unchecked, often perpetrated by the top brass. I had a six-figure RFP that was swiped from me, resulting in a $20K commission loss for me and my family by the highest-ranking member of the sales team. Didn't see a penny of my work despite confronting them with receipts and a paper trail. It was their sole decision to keep the deal with nobody to answer to. They surreptitiously took the account out of my name when the RFP came in, and lapped up all the praise for my deal in the meeting, where the CEO praised their "tenacity". Favoritism runs rampant, evidenced by the bending of account rules based on personal connections. There are no checks and balances, your deals will be taken from you when it suits "the best team in the building". It's hard for your manager to advocate for you, when it's their boss who's committing the theft. While Stormwind boasts dedicated individuals, next level instructors, and caring managers, the toxic culture fostered by leadership's decisions undermines any positive aspects of the workplace. No core values, just "buyers are buying". No Maternity or Paternity leave, Required to use PTO on days where you need to work from home due to illness or sick family member, No 401K match.

StormWind Studios Response

We worked full-time in office prior to Covid and have pivoted to still working from home 1-2 days a week since 2020/ 2021. We believe this is a perk for the team, it was never promised that we'd continue to work from home for forever.

Pros

Their CFO and Accounting team is very knowledgeable.

Cons

Their Glassdoor reviews are encouraged by management.. If you review the dates, many are made on the same day or around same time frame. They have also taken away their google reviews, because of bad feedback.

Pros

- Cool product - Some awesome people who want to do good work. There are some really talented people that work/worked here if you know where to look. - Very enticing culture with lots of giveaways, freebies, loud music, and seemingly happy people. - Lots of positive reinforcement for writing positive reviews on Glassdoor to keep the CEO as one of the top companies. - Very empowering speeches and stories that may have a few lies in it but who cares. Lots of name dropping so that's a plus. - They pay well to keep you guessing and under their thumb. But you can make good money if it's worth it for you.

Cons

- 80% of employees are outbound cold callers at a call center with no real reporting metrics. Call it what you want, that's what you do. And that's what you will probably always do. But they will make you feel good about it and always promise more without delivering unless you're a favorite. - The company churns and burns those who don't worship the company and its high members of staff. There's a brain-washing session called something like "The CEO's Vision" where you will feel like you're joining a cult. Go along with it, drink the kool-aid if you want to be successful at this company. But keep your comments/backstory to yourself. - Don't bother thinking creatively or trying to change the status quo despite the encouragement. The upper staff knows what they want and they will stick with that. Trying to change the status quo will get you burned fast. They are trying to sell the company and that's all that matters. - Anyone who is critical will be bad-mouthed by inside staff. (Be prepared for lots of ad hominems towards this reviewer from staff personnel). Don't trust anyone. - There are dozens of people who have been hurt, burned, and/or ruined because of their decision to work here. But there are a few people who really love it. - Oh almost forgot, corrupt business practices. But they are hard to see from the ivory tower. They are also masked by the Christian, Tony Robbins-esque facade that is projected.
