Pros
90% tuition discount for employee, 75% tuition discount for dependents, good health insurance, opportunity for growth within the company, vacation and sick leave starting on Day 1 of employment.
Cons
Although the benefits appear to be above average, Strayer has started taking holidays away from employees, and requiring us to work. In return, each salaried employee (exempt from overtime) is supposed to receive a day off at another date. This never works because it's always "crunch time" or a vacation "blackout" period. This company has so much financial success, yet its employees see none of the rewards for their hard work. Only 40 hours of vacation time can be carried over from one year to the next. Since you cannot take vacation because of the long hours and aggressive goals, you will lose that vacation time every year.
