friendly and accepting environment, peers who genuinely want to help you learn and succeed in your endeavors. As an intern you get treated just like any other employee. The culture is very diverse and welcoming.

Cons

The first two weeks as an intern are difficult, there is a steep learning curve.

Some Perspective on what I have seen

While many reviews here are accurate, I must say I have seen some things. I have seen bad managers get demoted to 'senior engineers', I have seen bad employees get fired after a year or so, I have seen management change even when I thought there was no chance of them improving. I have seen people change their gender and become accepted by the company. I have seen at least two market adjustments that gave people raises over 10%.

Cons

I have seen people fired for doing an awesome job for many years. I have seen developers (curriculum and software) choose to leave to find something better. I have seen sales dictate the development cycle. I have seen directors not putting the student first but maintaining power. I have seen multiple people fired right after getting a kudos in front of the quarterly company meetings. I have seen under-qualified people hired and carried as dead weight (this would be fine with some kind of rigorous improvement plan). I have seen people getting 3% or even no raise after working very hard. I have seen people promised raises, that got nothing and were told to wait until next year.
