Pros

1. nice building 2. good 401k plan if you decide to stay there until it's fully vested (5 years) 3. flexible schedule 4. co workers are mostly nice to each other

Cons

1. too many mid level managers, directors. This company seems to enjoy promoting generalists to mid level management position and expects them doing nothing but going to meetings and coming up their own initiatives that can never be executed since there are so few workers left. 2. Office politics becomes very destructive now. 3. Company only hires type A people, but doesn't care much about their skills and experiences. Even for internal promotions or switching job functions, there is no training to prepare you for the job, because the company believes ambition is the only thing needed to get jobs done. Then you will see whole bunch of very stressed clueless people trying to push other people to do their jobs and taking credits for themselves. 4.Quality issue. It might be another type A personality thing. But management is always willing to sacrifice quality for faster turn around time, because they want to see results quick. This is very scary because we are after all making medical devices.

Pros

Great peers to work with Up until a year ago there had been no layoffs Products made by company help save lives

Cons

-Compensation is unfair, particularly to the worker bee. And is not properly distributed within company. A college student is unable to pay their rent with what you make not to mention the student loans you probably have and car payment/insurance. Does not provide even the minimum for cost of living. Promotional and performance raises do not give much reason to stay on for promises in the future. -110% is expected from employees. So many people plain burn out. The compensation doesn't match the hard work being performed. -Tardy/absent policy is a nickel & diming policy. (Just 1 second late you get an occurrence.) -When it comes to performance reviews, there is more concerned with a couple absences and tardies (by less then a minute) then the actual great job they say you are doing. - Poor encouragement to properly balance home life with work life.

Pros

The training was very thorough. I attended numerous schools to be qualified on the MAKO robot for all three, Total Hip, Total Knee, Partial Knee, and Partial Hip operations.

Cons

I was on a base salary and by HR standards working a 9-5 job. I was not asked but DEMANDED that I work outside of those hours as per required by operating surgery schedule. ZERO overtime or additional compensation provided.
