Pros

Experience working in surgery, learning endoscopy instruments, and seeing the day to day operations of an OR. I personally made a lot of good relationships, especially in sterile processing, since so much of the work is done in their cleaning, sterilizing, and wrapping cameras, scopes, and sets. Make connections outside of Stryker. Help out and work with reps with other companies so when a position opens up you'll be first in line! Don't wait 2+ years to stay within Stryker and get a blessing from your sales rep/manager. Not worth it!

Cons

If you end up working at a facility with a dbag sales rep you won't have fun. Mine was constantly on my case even though he was not my manager. He had an ego and complex that made me cringe anytime he was around. My managers were ok, but Stryker creates this suck-up culture where you just kiss a** all the time and never feel comfortable to air grievances like the horrible pay and lack of opportunities. Long days, long commutes, no reimbursements for gas.

Pros

*getting exposure into medtech with a well known company.

Cons

I hope someone reads this and has cause to pause. I truly believe many of the reviews below are not real. I say this because of the information below. 1. Lack of training/resources 2. Teams ran poorly 3. Thrown into neuro/spine surgeries expected to run the case having never done it before 4. Lack of respect from anyone in power 5. VERY poor pay for the amount of work put in 6. On call and expected to cover all holidays 7. No ecosystem of engineers or techs to help with in services or deliveries. 8. Lack of growth or acknowledgment for sales 9. Essentially told to sit back when attempting to go for a sales role 10. Zero direction from management

Pros

Stryker was a wonderful place to work. My managers ensured that I was well trained and experienced throughout my career over there. It contributed to my success in my subsequent roles. The teams that I was on were full of really talented, FUN people. Overall, really fantastic coworkers turned friends and mentors that I still rely on!!

Cons

They went through a lag in recognizing tenured employees in terms of pay (i.e. those fully vested). This resulted in an exodus of talented folks leaving between end of 2020 and mid-2022. I've heard rumors that this was later remedied, but the remaining tenured staff had/have increased responsibilities as a result of the turnover and training lag for new hires. Keep in mind that some tenured employees returned, so that should demonstrate how the company is uniquely great in terms of culture and extra benefits. Also, the turnover is pronounced at the leadership level, so it is unclear what results many senior leaders produced and often times new leaders from other divisions feel "fluffy" and "not substantial". The individual contributors are the ones carrying the business...
