Pros

Great work environment working with people you want to be around. It's a fast-paced, exciting atmosphere where your contributions are implement and your voice is heard. They've created an atmosphere where giving and receiving feedback is a core part of our culture which is extremely helpful in continued professional growth within the company. Working here makes me feel like I'm really making a difference in the field of education.

Cons

Advancement opportunities can be limited, but my manager works very closely with me to make goals and helps me to achieve them. If you work hard and do a good job, it doesn't go unrecognized.

Pros

Study.com makes me want to come to work every day. Having a mission that is truly rooted in doing good for people makes all the difference in the world. Plus, our co-founders are not only brilliant people striving to do good in the world, they are down to earth individuals who know and value each and every one of their employees. They, along with all levels of management, are always looking to pair employees with roles that suit their strengths and allow them to grow and advance.

Cons

No roof top dining ..... yet.

A Great Place for Career Development

Pros

This is the first company I've been at where management is as committed to my professional growth as I am. Several times a year everyone sits down with their manager to discuss what new skills they want to learn or existing skills they'd like to further develop. I know that happens at some other places too, but what sets Study.com apart is its willingness to move people and projects around to really align what people want to work on with the work that needs to get done. I know a few people that work for large companies like Google, Amazon and Facebook, and they all seem to really like it, but when we talk about work it seems like they're stuck in very specific, focused roles. I think back on the breadth of what I've learned since I started working at Study.com and there's no way I would have picked up half as much somewhere else.

Cons

The office is almost 20 miles away from me and Bay Area traffic is horrible.

Thanks for the positive feedback on our career development conversations. We really try to create a culture where employees can have open conversations about their career goals and also see new opportunities as they stay with the company. As an ed tech company, we want to live up to our mission by making sure our employees always have opportunities to learn new skills, which is why we don't silo employees into specialized positions. - Ashley
