You will always be fighting in this job. Fighting with residents to comply with rules, fighting with underwriting to clear files , fighting with unrelistic expectation, fighting with HR, having commitments changed last minute. Nothing is easy in this company no one want to take ownership at main office level they constantly push you off to someone else.
The people that make the rules have never been property managers so they have no idea the stress they put on all staff from the top down! My maintenance guys that bust there behinds and move mountains everyday only to be torn down, my OC getting snide comments from the RVP ,being talked down to when they have a question up at the main office or getting condescending remarks from concierge when they ask for help. Every manager knows that HR does not protect the managers so that leave us with little ability to attempt to rectify any issues. A ton of double standards so in the end you are set up to fail.
