Pros

The benefits offered are very good but every year SunTrust decreases them by a bit. There are a lot of opportunities without having to move to the north east part of the United States.

Cons

Communication between upper management and employees is severely lacking. compensation seems to be on the lower end of the scale when compared to other similar institutions.

Pros

SunTrust has many locations throughout the southeast and as the employee turnover seems pretty quick, it is relatively relatively easy to get your foot in the door. SunTrust has a good group insurance plan. profitsharing, and other benefits. As is the standard in the banking, there are usually twelve holidays a year meaning that the bank is closed. This is in addition to the vacation.

Cons

From my experience, the following were the most frustrating for SunTrust employees: employee ideas and opinions are not sought; there is very little chance for advancement beyond middle mngmt; there seems to be a very politically charged atmosphere in the work environment; and, it seems that there are more than a few incompetent people in leadership roles. "It's who you know" still seems to stand true in southern banking - even with a big regional bank.

Pros

Great people ! Great learning experience ! Serious about good customer service ! SunTrust has a superb training program designed to develop the best professionals in the banking industry.

Cons

Not having enough support from upper management when extremely necessary. Sometimes you are out on your own. It could be isolated to my area, but communicating the real issues sometimes seems like career suicide.
