Pros

The majority of people were helpful to work with and a general team spirit prevailed.

Cons

The technology was old, the pay was stagnant , promised reviews came and went and it seemed that managers were told to look for any possible situation or imperfection in order to keep you from advancing ,which meant giving you a pay raise. Heaven NO!! One very disturbing factor, I noticed as a female, that men were definitely being paid more for the same job and what I observed, the same job done with less enthusiasm and poor work ethic. Sexist? Yes.

Pros

Solid Company, Great Customers and Co-workers.

Cons

Area Managers and Retail Executives have unrealistic goals and expectations that are above what SunTrust as a company has issued in goals. Managers often work until 8-9pm at night to complete tasks. Constant changes to incentive plans mid stream with an all or nothing criteria. You must hit all of 3-4 metrics or there is no bonus. Even then your bonus is 70% discretionary so if your Area Manager does not like you or feels that you are not well rounded you will not get your full bonus. Complete favoritism!

Pros

Having a job. That's it.

Cons

Despite itself, company continues to make money due to its size and scale. Horrible tactical execution with no emphasis on developing its people. Consistently underpays its people in comparison to peer banks. No culture. Having Suntrust is not a positive to potential employers on your resume.
