Pros

Consistent Salary, Benefits, "any monkey could do my job"

Cons

Was told that any monkey could do any of our jobs. Existed in an environment where all of my co-workers were in fear of losing their job. Goals and numbers existed purely for corporate because when it came down to it....the numbers would get fudged at the branch level so that people kept their jobs. Management did not care about your personal life. If you were sick they said work through it if you bothered to come in, if you didn't bother to come in the rest of the staff would have to struggle with short staff, no one was ever called in to cover.

Pros

Hourly pay and company benefits are actually pretty decent (compared to other banks).

Cons

There is SO much stress trying to hit your numbers with this company, I fear it's slowly creeping into Wells Fargo as employees will start finding ways to fake their numbers in order to get management off their backs. I worked at a slower location and the corporate overlords required insane lending/deposit numbers to hit. And with the BB&T merger announced it seems everyone is in a mad dash to crank out high numbers in order to save their jobs once the inevitable branch closings start happening. #Synergy! Every monday meeting is negative negative negative. I'll work crazy hard for 4 hours solving a servicing or maintenance problem, but if it doesn't generate any branch deposits nobody cares. Also a HUGE portion of this job is phone sales so if you are not comfortable with this DO NOT APPLY.

Pros

There literally is nothing good I would say. It is terrible in every way...

Cons

They manage cost by doing Work Force Reduction 2 times every year... eventually you run out of people to let get. That combined with the even more terrible Performance Review process creates the worst most unethical culture... it brings out the worst in people to the point no one stands up for what is right. As for customers... I wouldn’t have a bank account there if it were the last bank on the planet. The systems and infrastructure aren’t managed well are antiquated.... I mean the money to pay for the most amazing Executive floor and Board room has to come from somewhere. Priorities right? What I saw from an infrastructure side... everything from the data center, how they provided daily support, how they implemented change... the major issues I saw.... I remember thinking.... “if people only knew”... heck if a hacker only knew... they could hack into that network and no one would have a clue. I could go on and on....
