Great work experience in a company that is struggling to find its identity.

Pros

Recongnized name is senior living. Pay. Ability to be exposed to major projects at a mid-level position. Off at noon on Fridays during the summer in the corporate office.

Cons

Senior managment lacks leadership. Low employee morale. Fear of layoffs. Long hours

Pros

Relationships made with the residents and some colleagues at the community. Good benefits and clean working conditions for the most part.

Cons

Very poor middle-level managers; i.e. leads and coordinators. Have to work weekends. Inconsistent reviews. No chance for overtime. Very physical job. Great stamina is needed.

Pros

The best part of working at Sunrise is working with the residents, and having great team members around you. Your work feels very rewarding because you are making a difference in people's lives.

Cons

Really poor senior management, making bad decisions that impacted the ability of people at the community level to provide quality care and excellent service. A lot of good, talented and tenured people left the company since 2008 when some major changes in leadership caused a mass exodus. Many of those bad leaders have since left (voluntarily or involuntarily) but the company culture has not fully recovered.
