Fun job, great people, terrible pay and benefits

Pros

The culture at the resort varies across business units, but overall is a great place to work. They really do empower their employees to get involved in other areas of the business that interest them.

Cons

They pay their employees terribly and do not offer holidays off - you have to use your own bank of PTO for any holiday time. They require managers (front and back of house) to work holidays and busy weekend dates as "ambassadors". Because of this and a small, resort market candidate pool... they have a lean staff that wears many hats, which can lead to burnout quickly.

Great atmosphere, friendly leadership, generally fun to work there.

Cons

You might not work 40 hrs/wk unless you try to pick up extra shifts - and it's difficult to get any overtime.

Wrked outside so couldnt beat the view. I worked on the golf course grounds and so that led to a lot of free gold which was great.

Cons

Pay could have been better. There is not much room for advancement. Management needs to do a better job of training.
